Dear brothers and sisters,

Please find below the latest ministry news from Makhaza Reformed Baptist Church in Khayelitsha, Western Cape.

Family

We are grateful as a family that the Lord is still gracious to us. The kids are still safe and healthy. They are enjoying being back to school. It is good to have my wife around. She helps by dropping them and picking them from school and she spends more time with them in assisting them with their school work. She also gets time now to be able to do some reading for herself, although our young boy keeps us busy around the house.

Ministry

We are grateful as the church that we have reopened our church gatherings, keeping the  regulations. There have been a couple of people who have been following our church Facebook page, and through that we had a visit of a young man who was formerly a Muslim, and who came to faith last year. He had not found a church where he would settle in. He said he was still doing some research about Christianity since he was still new to it. He found our Facebook page during lockdown, and has been listening to our sermons and following our radio ministries. He then made contact with our Facebook page admin, and they have been in communication since then. Since we opened, he has been attending our church services, and is showing some interest in joining the church. Keep this brother in prayer. He is also looking for employment.

Another interesting visit was a young man who came across one of our elders. They had conversation and he had lots of questions he was struggling with. He came to visit because he still had questions. He has been in a Pentecostal church. Through God’s grace, when he visited, the sermon answered exactly the questions he was battling with, and he looked excited and intends to continue to attend our church services. Let us keep him in prayer as well.

Continue to pray for us as the church so that the process of acquiring the church property might move faster. The building is not in good condition at the moment and we find ourselves praying for weather to be warm on Sundays because it will be very challenging to gather if it is cold or raining. The sooner the process is completed, we can start working on fixing it.

Continue to pray for me and Bulelani and our regular talks on the radio. He continues to do some talks every Tuesday on church and social issues. I do talks on Thursdays and certain Sundays on discipleship and various theological topics on Sundays.

Prayer Items

  1. Pray that the Lord will continue encouraging the saints as we gather every week.
  2. Pray for those who visit to hear the word and be convicted by it.
  3. Pray for the process of acquiring the church property to move faster and be completed.
  4. Pray for those who are seeking employment.
  5. Pray for the radio ministries we are involved in.

Thank you for your prayers,

Sizwe Maseti
