We focus our prayers this week on Kitwe Church in Zambia, where Phil Hunt serves as pastor-teacher. The church writes,

Dear Sola 5 brothers,

It is a great privilege to serve Christ and proclaim the gospel here in Kitwe, Zambia. In many ways, 2026 has been a year of remarkable blessing, but those blessings have also brought opportunities for us to reset and strengthen the work here at home.

  • Would you join us in thanking God for the privilege of sending Gideon Mpeni and his family to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, for church revitalisation, and João Domingos and his family to Angola for church planting? No sooner had we rejoiced in God’s goodness in sending these men than the Lord moved another of our elders, Hector Garcia to southern Mexico to plant a church.
  • We rejoice in the privilege of sending men into the harvest, but this has also created a significant need for leadership development here at Kitwe Church. Please pray for us as we continue to raise up men for Christ’s global work through our ministry internship program, while also seeking to identify, train, and appoint elders to shepherd the flock here at home.
  • We would also value your prayers as we trust the Lord to provide the necessary funds for the construction of a permanent church building on property we own here in Kitwe. We are actively raising funds for this project and looking to the Lord to meet this need.
  • Finally, please pray for our annual Missions Conference, which will take place the last weekend of November. We are looking forward to welcoming home our missionaries serving in Angola, South Sudan, and Tanzania, along with our church planter serving in Kasama, Zambia. It will be a wonderful opportunity for our church family to hear firsthand what God is doing through these ministries, to rejoice together in his faithfulness, and to renew our commitment to the Great Commission. During this week, we collect our “Planned Giving For Missions” financial commitment for 2027. We pray God’s blessings on our church family will result in increased giving to missions.

We remain confident in Christ’s promise, “I will build my church,” and we are grateful for the fellowship, encouragement, and prayers of our brothers and sisters across the Sola5 family of churches.

Thank you for standing with us in the work of the gospel.

In Christ’s service,

Philip S. Hunt Lead Teaching Pastor Kitwe Church
