We pray this week for Kabwata Baptist Church in Lusaka, Zambia, where Conrad Mbewe and Chipita Sibale serve on the eldership. Here is how you can pray for the church.
Praise
- On Sunday, 28 June, Njekwa Sitali was ordained as a missionary pastor to serve in the State Lodge area of Lusaka.
- On 2 August, eight elders were ordained in Rwanda for two of Kabwata’s church plants—three for Covenant Reformed Baptist Church and five for Reformation Baptist Church.
- The church’s 2026 pastoral interns have completed the first six of their twelve-month programme. Thank God for his provision of resources thus far.
- Thank God for the open door to minister to men and women in uniform. So far the church has served the Mobile Paramilitary Police, the Drug Enforcement Commission, the Zambia Air Force, the Zambia National Service, and the Ministry of Defence.
- Thank God for the Zambia Reformed Family Conference, held in the last week of August.
Petition
- The church continues to seek financial support for the four men who have completed the pastoral internship programme and are ready to be sent as missionaries. (With the ordination of Njekwa Sitali, the number has reduced from five to four.)
- Another door is opening in ministry to the deaf. Pray that the few men and women leading this work will not grow weary in well-doing.
- This past week (28 September – 3 October 2026), the church conducted outreach to the physically disabled. The gospel was preached, and walking crutches and wheelchairs were distributed. It was also a time to minister to caregivers.
Thank you for your prayers.
In Christ,
Chipita Sibale
