Birchleigh Baptist Church

Birchleigh Baptist Church is a community of believers in Jesus Christ that believe the Scriptures, the 66 books of the Bible, are the infallible, inerrant and the authoritative word of God, fully inspired by the Holy Spirit as contained in the original languages. The church believes the Scriptures should govern how we live our lives and what we believe in life.

As a confessional church, the 1689 2nd London Baptist Confession summarises what the church believes. The church affirms the baptism of believers only, although it recognises that true Christians have other persuasions concerning baptism and other non-essential aspects of the Christian life. It believes the Bible is the final authority in all matters of faith and practise.

The church believes it is necessary that every Christian should join a local body of believers where they experience the dynamics of the body of Christ.

The church believes Jesus Christ is the head of the church and the only Saviour of mankind, of all those who repent of their sins and believes in him.

The church believes that salvation is by grace alone, in Christ alone, received by faith alone to the glory of God alone. Part of the Sola 5 association of churches in Southern Africa, the church is known as a Reformed Baptist Church.
