Brothers and sisters,
I greet you all in the wonderful name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Family Update
By God’s grace, we are doing well. Nicole and I are in a good place both spiritually and in our marriage. Having two children under the age of two has certainly brought its challenges, but the Lord continues to provide help and strength.
We now have a live-in nanny named Vivian. She has been a great help with the children and around the house. We’ve encouraged her to join our Thursday night home Bible study, and Nicole has been sharing the gospel with her. We believe the Lord may have saved her through this. She is genuinely inquisitive about spiritual matters. Nicole tries to answer her questions as best she can, and when she gets stuck, she’ll call me to help. Please pray for Vivian.
Please also pray for our daughter, Milani. We were recently told she might have plagiocephaly (also known as flat head syndrome). A baby nurse who attends our church noticed the shape of her head and consulted a paediatrician, who suggested we get it checked. We plan to visit a paediatrician next week and then consult a second one for another opinion. This news hasn’t been easy to process. Please pray that the Lord would grant us peace, and that he would provide the resources and wisdom we need should this diagnosis be confirmed.
Ministry Update
We’re planning to have our members’ meeting this coming Sunday. God willing, we’ll be receiving eleven new members into the church, and possibly baptising four people in the weeks to follow. I’ll be conducting the membership interviews for all of them this week. It’s a lot of work, but I’m greatly encouraged. Please keep me in your prayers.
Our church has also been engaging in corporate evangelism on the last Saturday of each month. We’ve had some good gospel conversations. Please pray for lasting fruit from these efforts.
I continue preaching through the Gospel of John on Sundays. We are currently in chapter 6. For our Thursday Bible studies, we are using Paul Washer’s workbook Knowing the Living God. As I often remind our people, what I love most about this book is how it constantly drives us to the Scriptures. A large portion of our time is spent with our faces in the Bible.
Regards,
Siya
