Trinity Baptist Church began as a church plant began in the village of Mbhokota in 2009 under the missionary ministry of Paul Schlehlein. For many years the church worshipped in abandoned buildings and garages but eventually the church, with a mind to work, took about constructing a building. After two years of assiduous labour, church members completed construction of the building in which they now meet.
We love to study whole books of the Bible. All preaching is in Tsonga. Paul continues to shepherd the flock in Mbhokota, but his desire is to transfer the leadership to a mature local man gifted in preaching and pastoring, parenting and planning, praying and pleading. Godly men are difficult to find in rural villages, as most leave to find work in the big city and those who stay are inundated with a culture that does not prize the role of husband and father at home.
The church is labouring to plant additional churches in the nearby villages of River Plaats and N’waxinyamani.
