We live in a time in which there is much confusion over the crucial subjects of sex, sexuality, marriage, gender, gender roles, and what it means to be a man. If we are going to be salt and light as the holy covenant people of God, we need to know what God’s word says about each of these topics so that we can conduct our lives in a manner that is pleasing and honouring to our risen Lord Jesus.
Our Speaker
We are delighted to have Gavin Peacock as our speaker for these sessions. Gavin is the Director of International Outreach for the Council of Biblical Manhood and Womanhood, which exists to set forth the teachings of the Bible about the complementary differences between men and women, created equally in the image of God, because these teachings are essential for obedience to Scripture and for the health of the Christian family and church. Gavin is co-author of the book The Grand Design, and is an elder, serving as the pastor over discipleship and missions at his local church in Calgary, Alberta in Canada.
The Topic
On Wednesday evening, Gavin will be leading our “Men’s Rally,” with two sessions that will set forth a biblical call to manhood and instruct us on what Jesus says in the Scriptures about sex and sexuality. On Thursday morning, he will seek to “Apply the Reformation to Today’s Gender Chaos,” again in two sessions that will lay a biblical foundation for gender roles from Genesis 1–3 and point us to the gospel and glory of God in marriage. You cannot afford to miss these sessions for the spiritual well-being of your marriage, family, and congregation.
