Greetings, brethren, in the wonderful name of our risen Lord Jesus Christ,
“This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel, saying, ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the LORD of hosts” (Zechariah 4:6).
Rejoice with us that, this past November (2016), we held a special dedication service to give thanks to God for His faithfulness in completing the construction of our new church building (pictured above), and to consecrate the structure and all the ministry that takes place within to the purposes and glory of King Jesus.
Since then, we have had a steady flow of new visitors, as our Pastor Tim finished his series in the Gospel of John and is now working through Romans (morning) and Revelation (evening). Please pray for us as we seek to be good stewards of the many visitors that enter our doors, making the most of every opportunity to evangelise the lost and disciple the saved, particularly trying to help them live out the glorious reality of their union with the body of Christ, in a local church.
Having the new facility has also allowed us to host a number of unique events including: holiday Bible club (pictured above), where around 90 children were taught of the wisdom of God in the book of Proverbs; and Charles Simeon Trust Preaching Workshops (pictured below), where about sixty men were given intensive training in expositing God’s word by working through 2 Timothy. Please pray for the gospel to bear saving fruit in the lives of these children and their parents/families, as well as for the of word God to run forth and be magnified through each of the pulpits and teaching word ministries represented by the men.
By the grace of God, we continued to have an open door to preach the riches of Christ on the campus of Monash University to a diverse group of international students.
Recently, a door opened up for us to partner with another local church in co-leading a morning Christian student meeting at a local high school, Rand Park High. Each of these schools is under the power of the evil one as unbelief and immorality is rampant.
Please pray that God would cause us to continue find favour from the authorities in place, that many students would be genuinely awakened and converted to Christ, and future male and female student leaders would be raised up by the Spirit.
Also, this past week, small group of us visited a local squatter camp, Sandspruit, just down the road from our new location in Honeydew. For some of us this was our first time there and we rejoice in the opportunity to bring the gospel to the poor and needy there. Please pray for relationships to be established between that community and ourselves, and for the planting of a gospel-preaching, biblically healthy church in their midst.
Finally, we are excited and filled with anticipation to see what the Lord will do in our midst at our upcoming REZ Conference later this week. We are praying that more than 700 souls will unite together to sing praises to our Triune God, be built up through the preaching of His holy word, and mutually encourage one another in true Christian fellowship; and that those unconverted among us would be brought to a saving knowledge of Christ. Please pray for the Lord’s presence and power among us, that His Spirit would be poured out upon our speakers and those sitting under the word, as we long for true revival and reformation to spread across our country and continent.
