Dear brethren,

Greeting in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, I am grateful that you are taking time to read my report on how God is working in our ministry his wonders to perform.

Family

As this year is draws to an end we can only look back and praise God for his abundant grace that he bestowed upon us as a family. The Lord has been good to us. Zoe did very well at school and will be heading for Grade 2 in the new year. She is over excited.

Answered Prayer

I am sure everyone can remember that we have been trusting the Lord for more children. Well, by the grace of God, we will welcome an addition to the clan by August next year. Thank you so much for your prayers and please continue to pray for us.

We have been battling with the decision to share this news sooner or later, but keeping it silent only robbed us of so much joy and caused a lot of unnecessary strain since day one. This was mostly because of fear that the past will repeat itself.

My encouragement to Jenna and to myself was that children are a gift from God and he is sovereignly in control of everything. Amazingly, we found rest in our sovereign and righteous Lord. Please continue to pray that the Lord will grant us grace and protect both Jenna and the baby.

Outreach

Normally at this time of the year, because of the festive season, people are looking for reasons to celebrate and to have parties. In our community, and I believe all over, this is normally the time when most young people end up doing things they will regret for the rest of their lives. Pray for the church to be visible and that churches will see this as an opportunity to spread the gospel. Many churches have already closed their doors and will only gather on Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Pray for a spirit of evangelism amongst us—that, even as our unbelieving families and friends visit us, we will seize the gospel opportunity.

Pray for Patrick

In my last report I shared about the open door the Lord gave us to minister on the premises of a former drug lord named Patrick. Patrick has over the years lived a scandalous life and has children all over with many different women. Patrick also use to be married, or might still be married, to a wife and had two children (daughters) with her. Both of them ended up addicted to drugs.

Less than a week ago, his eldest daughter passed away. Please pray that the Lord will use this as an opportunity for the gospel for him and the family. I believe her funeral will be well attended by young girls living the same lifestyle as she did. Pray that the gospel will reach them and that they will turn away from sin.

Prayer Requests

  1. Pray that we as a church will live lives that are worthy of the gospel of Jesus Christ during the festive season.
  2. Pray for the safety of our members as many are returning home for the holidays.
  3. Please pray that the Lord will grant me wisdom and strength as I am leading the church while Mario is on holiday. Pray that I will be focused faithful during my sermon prep.

Thank you for taking time to read this brief report. I apologise for not always being able to add pictures.

“For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!” (1 Corinthians 9:16)
