Dear brethren,
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, I am grateful that you are taking time to read my report on how God is working in our ministry his wonders to perform.
Family Update
By grace, the Lord has kept our family safe and has seen to our every need. We as a family give God praise for all he has done and continues to do for us. Jenna is still on maternity till next year middle January, which is an obvious blessing to us as me and the kids enjoy having her home. She is battling at the moment with a severe eye infection. The eye specialist told us that it could cause massive permanent damage and could even lead to permanent loss of sight. At the moment, she has no sight in her left eye and the doctor is treating it with antibiotics and some other eye drops that might remedy the situation. She might be admitted soon. Please keep her in your prayers as the medication is preventing her to breastfeed the baby.
Melanchthon is slowly but surely gaining weight and, praise be to God, we have had no health issues with him as yet. He is already smiling and showing some kind of personality (that’s from where I am standing).
Zoe is proving to be a great big sister and is really stepping up. I am so proud of her being helpful and very caring.
Ministry Update
For the past few weeks I have not had much opportunity to go out and do ministry. I have been mostly home receiving visitors, discipling some men, and doing premarital counselling. I have been so encouraged with two men in our church. One is one of our deacons (Theo) and another a new believer (Br Saschion). Both have been going out weekly to share the gospel on the streets. Please keep them in your prayers. Please pray for our planned weekly open air services that will start the first week of November.
Ministry Opportunity
A few weeks ago, Mario and I were confronted by some young men in our community who started a soccer team. One of the gentlemen came to talk to us with regards to the teams need for a coach and a manager. Somehow they got it in their minds that, if they have me on board, they will get the care they need. In their minds, I am well connected. But we saw this as a great ministry opportunity: a chance to minister to over 23 young men between the ages of 18 and 22. Please pray that the Lord will give us much wisdom as we pursue this ministry opportunity. Also pray for Br Donnie who is currently coaching them. Pray that he will not be overcome by his love for soccer but that he will be led by the Spirit to evangelise their souls.
Prayer Requests
- Pray for my family and that the infection won’t cause permanent damage to Jenna’s eyesight.
- Pray that the Lord will give us more zeal and compassion to faithfully proclaim his word in difficult areas.
- Pray for spiritual growth for me, Jenna and our church family.
- Praise the Lord for three more people who have applied for membership.
Thank you for taking time to read this brief report.
“For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!” (1 Corinthians 9:16)
