Dear brethren,
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. I am grateful that you are taking time to read my report on how God is working in our ministry his wonders to perform.
Family
Dear brothers and sisters, this year started on a very slow pace and it has been difficult to make plans and to set out future endeavours, as a cloud of uncertainty is covering one’s mind.
This pandemic had an impact on our family; how big of an impact I am not sure. However, the future might seem blurred and uncertain, but one thing that is very certain is that Christ is Lord, and nothing has been left outside his control (Hebrews 2:8)!
Jenna has been back at work for a week now and Zoe is getting ready to go back to school next month. Jennifer’s cousin, Raldine, who lives with us, will also begin with her studies in education this year and we are so excited! We praise the Lord that the little man, Melanchthon is still healthy and growing well.
Ministry
Our church is getting ready for our yearly corporate Month of Evangelism and we are seeking the Lord in prayer and fasting. We are really trusting the Lord for souls—that he will revive this valley of dead bones! Jesus said that “an hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live” (John 5:25).
Our community has gone from bad to worse, it seems, as I look at how gangs of little children are rising everywhere, but I believe that in the darkest hour God’s glory will shine brighter. The gospel is our only hope!
I have seen organisations try many programs with all good intentions and failed. However, I have also witnessed and can personally testify of what the gospel of God can do to a vile sinner. We will be stepping out doing open air preaching from Monday to Friday every week for the next month, trusting God to “save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him” (Hebrews 7:25). God is worthy of our trust, and may he grant us expectant hearts as we sow the seeds of the good news of Jesus Christ.
Prayer Requests
- Please pray that the youth of Bellville South will come to saving faith in Jesus Christ.
- Pray that the Lord will give us more zeal and compassion to faithfully proclaim his word in difficult areas.
- Pray, as our church fasts and prays in preparation for this month of evangelism, that we will be faithful in the ministering the gospel to an ignorant and evil generation.
- Pray that those who will be preaching will receive a word from the Lord in season that we will preach with power and in the Holy Spirit!
Thank you for taking time to read this brief report. I apologise for not always being able to add pictures.
“For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!” (1 Corinthians 9:16)
Yours in his service
