Dear brethren,

Please find below the latest news from Makhaza Reformed Baptist Church in Khayelitsha, South Africa.

Family

The Lord has been keeping us well. The kids are still well at school. My wife, Sethu, was diagnosed with panic attack, which is stress related. She has been trying to rest and take things easy. She will go for another check-up in few weeks’ time. Also do remember Bulelani’s wife, Nokuthula, who has not been well for more than a year now. She has a permanent sickness, which makes it difficult to work. Keep us in prayer on this regard.

Ministry

We have received great news from the City of Cape Town with regards to the church property, which they will be selling the property to a Baptist Association. The Baptist Executive has given us authorisation to buy the building from the City of Cape Town and to occupy it as we still raise the funds and negotiate how the City of Cape Town will be paid. The building is heavily vandalised; there are no toilets, windows, doors, electricity, etc. These are mostly pressing necessities in order to use the building. Since there has been a lot happening with regards to this building, with some of the community groups desiring to occupy it, we had to quickly move in. We appeal for your assistance on buying this property and installing these basic necessities.

Below are the banking details for those who are moved to contribute:

Bank: First National Bank
Account Name: Makhaza Reformed Baptist Church
Account Number: 7477 0085 171
Branch Code: 250 655
Reference: Building Fund

This month, in the radio ministry, we have been looking at various texts in order to define a disciple in the New Testament context and Jewish understanding: what it means to be a disciple; its requirements; etc. The aim of this program is to disciple believers.

The preachers’ forum program at CPUT will resume soon after a long delay because of some issues that needed to be resolved.

Prayer Points

  • Pray for the health of our families.
  • Pray for our children’s ministry as Bulelani works hard in teaching and on their material.
  • Pray for the church building, as we hope to fix all that is needed and be able to buy it.
  • Pray that God will use the radio ministry in discipling and exposing listeners to the gospel.
  • Pray that the preachers’ forum will continue producing preachers who will be faithful to God’s word.
