Greetings, brothers and sisters, in the wonderful name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
I pray that this letter finds you well. As the year 2022 ends, we reflect on how far the Lord has brought us in such a short period of time. For a small church like ours, such progress can only be attributed to the Lord. As Romans 8:31 reminds us, if God is for us, who can be against us?
We have had much rain the past few months and it is a blessing indeed for us to be able to gather without having to check the weather forecast or to be concerned it may rain during a sermon. Brethren, we do not take for granted any Sunday service. We give thanks to God for blessed fellowship. However, our attendance is not good due to the rain. It is with great pleasure that we announce that our building is complete and looking good. It has been a long waiting and a few ups and downs along the way, but we thank God that we finally have a secured place of worship. Of course, there are a few things still to do such as painting and outside plastering, which we forgot to plan or include in our initial request for funding.
Sovereign Grace Bible Church is committed to the Great Commission and, as such, we continue to be witnesses to this message of salvation. This past month, we distributed tracts and engaged in evangelistic efforts around the area where the church is located, and we went to a nearby shopping centre to do the same. Some people showed interest to visit the church and thus we pray that the Lord would draw his sheep.
It is delightful to see the church meet to take the word of God to the lost. It is also encouraging to see the commitment of our members giving their time and material goods for the glory of God and for the benefit of the church. The church often makes time to come clean up the church on weekends and even arrives early Sunday mornings to prepare for worship among other things. We have also received a donation of furniture from our members for the cry room and a study desk, which will be very helpful to the church. We are grateful to the Lord for putting such commitment in the hearts of our members.
Brethren, we would appreciate your prayers for the following:
- Church growth (members to continue growing in the Lord).
- Fruit from gospel outreach.
- Pearl’s persistent abdominal pain.
- Warona (brother Sello’s son) has finished writing matric exams and my son Ntokozo is also done with his tertiary exams. We pray their exams went well, as we do for all the children in the church.
Please send greeting to the saints on our behalf with love.
Yours in Christ,
Bheki Bembe
Pastor
