Birchleigh Baptist Church

Birchleigh Baptist Church is an independent, reformed evangelical church serving the Birchleigh suburb of Kempton Park and the wider East Rand. The congregation is intentionally diverse in age and background—students, young adults, families with children of all ages, and pensioners worship together.

The church welcomes all who sin and need a Saviour, all who are anxious and need the peace of God, all who are spiritually weary and seek rest, all who are lonely and seek friendship, and all who hunger and thirst after righteousness.

The church holds to the sixty-six books of Scripture as the infallible, inerrant, and fully inspired word of God, and looks to Scripture as the final authority for how we live and what we believe. As a confessional church, the church’s doctrine is summarised in the 1689 Second London Baptist Confession. The church practises the baptism of believers only, while gladly recognising fellow Christians who hold other convictions on baptism and other secondary matters.

The church believes that every Christian needs to belong to a local body of believers, where the life of the church can be experienced in community.
